Trump concession speech after Iowa caucus vote
Feb. 1, 2016

  • February 1, 2016- President Trump came in second place behind Ted Cruz in the Iowa caucus.

For Iowa, it was: “‘Don’t do it!’ I have to do it!”

Donald Trump gave an upbeat and gracious concession speech, congratulating Ted Cruz for his victory in Iowa. He went on to talk about the positives in the polls elsewhere, but also emphasized his love for Iowans a number of times.

He said friends had told him prior to getting involved in Iowa not to do it–that he’d never get into the top ten in results.

Trump will beat the snowstorm expected in the early hours and make it to New Hampshire for a forum with New England talk show staple Howie Carr (see next event).
